|
Description: |
Parallel jaw pliers with paired cams between the handles and "tail" of the jaws. This structure would not have an "open throat" like the BERNARD parallel jaw pliers (pat no. 427,220 and subsequent expansions & improvements).
May & June 1910 articles in MACHINERY provide details on the shop and manufacturing processes used to produce these pliers and show examples of several sizes. The pliers with side cutter illustrated in those articles was based on patent no. 958,807.
A local history story recounts how the DeVilbiss factory was destroyed by a 1911 tornado. |
