Description: |
This is the Canadian equivalent of U.S. patent 179,585. Co-assignee George S. Woodruff would eventually move to Toronto and manufacture gas governors there. The inventor was born in Canada to fugitive slaves from Kentucky. He moved to Scotland where he was certified as a mechanical engineer, and then rejoined his family who in the meantime had moved to Michigan. |
