Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Granger Foundry & Machine Co.
|
Description: |
"My invention is designed to be run in an ordinary engine-lathe to grind interior circular surfaces, such as boxes, bushings,..." The assignee is known to have made a tapping accessory for drill presses so it seems plausible that they would have manufactured this lathe grinding attachment. But we have found no evidence that they did so and it's possible that it was only ever intended for their own use. Less than a year after this patent was issued, Granger Foundry and Machine Co. was part of a merger that created the Textile-Finishing Machine Co. of Boston. Textile machinery accounted for the great majority of Granger's business. |
