Description: |
This die was made by the Reece Brothers firm, established 1875 and consisting of our inventor and his brother, Edward F Reece. In 1889 Edward sold his part of the business to his brother but then had to take over the business when Virginius became ill. Joined by Edward J. Reece and Edward Wilbur (yes, all three men were named Edward), in 1897 the name changed to E. F. Reese Co. In 1910 E. F. Reece Co. merged with Wells Bros. Reece Brothers and E. F. Reece Co. used the names "Hercules" and "Lightning" for taps and "Reece" for dies. |
