| Adjustable tongs type pipe wrench. Corresponding British patent GB-188,818,593 was granted Dec. 19, 1888 (see that entry for English summary of the patent and photo of example). Several photos show Johansson proudly holding an example of this adjustable pipe wrench; with modifications to take advantage of modern manufacturing methods and materials it is still produced.
Most Swedish production / distribution by B. A. Hjorth & Co (BAHCO).
German patent DE-93557 presents an alternate adjustment means for pipe wrenches of this general form. |
