Description: |
| Provision for a recess in the handle end to admit the drive stud of a ratchet wrench or other driver. Metal-to-metal contact or continuous structure from this recess to screwdriver shank essential. Alternate means to accomplish this are presented. An extensive list of patents, etc. are cited as references.
"RATCHER // PAT. NO. 4,212,336" appears on the handle of a known screwdriver with a 1/4" hex socket in the handle. "RATCHER" was trademarked by Innovative Tool Corp, Houston, TX in 1982. It was cancelled in 2003.
