Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for DeVlieg Machine Co.
|
Description: |
This patent was originally applied for on 1928-11-01 but that was abandoned when DeVlieg Machine Tool Co. went bankrupt. The patent covers the use of a pair of nuts on a feed screw along with a mechanism to finely adjust the nut spacing so as to eliminate backlash. The inventor made several subsequent improvements to this simple but important invention. This patent is one of a trio granted to Charles B. De Vlieg that were broadly useful across a range of machine tools. All three were assigned to Associated Patents, Inc., a licensing consortium; see the DeVlieg Machine Co. history on VintageMachinery.org (link below patent image). |
