Description: |
See US patent 3,845,282. The invention relates to a binary counter implemented using logic gates and read by a computer. If the computer reads the counter output while the counter is in the process of increment, an erroneous reading can result. The method to avoid this problem is to read the output twice in quick succession. If the two readings agree then the reading is used. Otherwise, an additional reading is made, and repeated as necessary until two consecutive identical readings are made. |
