Description: |
"My invention relates to the transmission of power and the control thereof, more particularly in connection with self-propelled vehicles in which the prime mover is an internal combustion engine... the substitution of electromagnetic variable ratio transmission apparatus for the mechanical gearing has heretofore been proposed. My invention relates to improvements in such electromagnetic transmission apparatus, and has for its object to make the necessary changes in transmission ratio very gradual and entire automatic, over a range, thus reducing the necessary manipulation of the electrical circuits by the operator to a minimum." |
