| Improvement on Crocker's earlier patents (nos. 64,286 and 95,091). The improvement is a slot extending into the jaw beyond the pivot point for the stripper plate. This slot helps to align and steady the ticket. A 20th Century McGill ticket punch appears to conform to this patent.
1880s ads for Crocker's Ticket Punch note all three patents; his fourth patent (no. 456,983 granted Aug. 4, 1891) was an additional refinement of this slot.
