Description: |
From the abstract: "A nut wrench is constructed with a metal rod or bar A having one or both ends tapered gradually to a sharp - ended extremity. The tapered part is wound upon the cornered nut C in spiral convolutions B, which bind upon the nut during the operative stroke and yield in springy manner during the inoperative stroke." Corresponding U.S. patent 1,051,562 was granted Jan. 28, 1913. Trade journals of the period note an un-named French manufacturer; known examples are marked "PATENT POIGNE" or "PATENT POIGNE BREVETE."
Note: British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #27,092 of the year 1911.
The claimed "effective date" corresponds to the date of initial German patent registration. |
