Joel Havens "Vintage Machinery" entry for J. W. Dennis
|
Description: |
"This invention relates to that class of steam-engines which contain two or more cylinders and connected pistons moving therein, and in which the steam is admitted to a chamber formed at the junction of the cylinders and admitted from said intermediate chamber to the outer ends of the cylinders and exhausted therefrom by a rotary valve. The object of our invention is to produce a simple engine of this kind which is composed of comparatively few parts, which can be constructed at small expense, and which is easily kept in order." |
