Description: |
The "seat" faces of an engine valve are scraped against sharp cutting ridges in a conical central depression. The head with those cutters is removable, so that a set of heads with cutting faces at different standard pitches can be employed. The tool has provision for centering the valve in the cutting area, minimizing friction on the valve stem, and means to adjust the holder for different lengths of valve stems.
In use, a screwdriver or brace type tool would be used to rotate the valve.
The tool was advertised in auto trade publications, with a companion valve seat reamer and "valve grinder" brace bit.. |
