"This invention relates to that class of Veneer Cutting Machines in which the veneer is cut form the log in a continuous sheet, the log revolving upon its centre and the cutting knife advancing up one a line parallel to the radius of the revolving log at a rate equivalent ot the thickniess of the desired veneer at each revolution."An advertisement in the April 1895 "The Canada Lumberman" from J. D. McEachren of Galt features "McEachren's improved system of kiln drying", which used exhaust steam to kiln-dry lumber. The May issue had a full-page article (see link). |
