Description: |
"The movable - jaw support of a wrench of the kind described in Specification No. 29,300, A.D. 1896, [ GB-189629300] is connected over its whole length with the handle, which extends in the direction of the jaws. The fixed jaw a is carried by a bridge - piece b attached to the handle d. The movable jaw c with its guide-rod f slides in the channel e and can be actuated by the nut i, h working on the screw g formed on the end of the guide-rod f. The part i of the nut bears against the flat end of the part b and relieves the part h from strain when the jaw c is being screwed up." -- Abstract
Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #18,926 of the year 1907. |
