Description: |
| The pivot pins which allow size adjustment are "flat oval" so the handles have to be swung out to let them slide. The design means three areas of gripping teeth would engage with most sizes of screw on jar lids. The "fingers" keep the wrench in the middle of a Mason jar closure; they also would work to release the "vacuum" of some other commonly used jar closures.
A known example marked "U.S. PAT 1196232 AUG 29, 1916" includes a smaller set of wrench jaw teeth in the handles, and has a can opener and bottle cap lifter on the handle ends.
