Description: |
Bar clamp with the adjustable jaw sliding on the bar. Fine toothed inserts are placed at the points where the adjustable jaw contacts the bar when clamping force is applied. A spring holds the adjustable jaw in position with the teeth contacting the bar; the adjustable jaw thus can only move when it can be tipped "forward" toward the fixed jaw. The patent includes the end stop on the bar.
Known examples marked with the patent date on the malleable iron jaw frame, and manufacturer information stamped on the "blade." |
