Description: |
| Specialty pliers type tool designed to hold half-circle tapered "keys" used as retainers for engine valve springs. Springs are used to clamp the keys in the jaws, and to close the jaws.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows the tool in context of use, and includes other related tools, i.e. valve spring compressor & "shield" to catch the "keys" when the valve spring is compressed. (See pat. no. 1,776,159 for the shield.)
