The patent focuses on the "safety chain" on the Bessolo Rotary Tongs based on Bessolo's March 6, 1923 patent no. 1,447,920. It improves the original by adding an adjustable tension spring, and moving the mounting point.
In the drawings, Fig. 2 shows the stud which attaches the safety chain to the handle, and Fig. 3 details the safety chain's attachment to the gripping chain of the tongs.
