Description: |
The basic idea in the patent is a spring-tensioned handle operates a movable jaw through an intermediate "pawl" with gripping teeth. The patent shows a couple of different arrangements for this concept, and a variety of jaw forms. Fig. 5 is a pliers; Fig. 6 is a punch; Fig. 7 is a dental forceps.
This is the fourth of four consecutive patents granted to Bessolo on this date; see also patent nos. 1,319,944 and 1,319,945 for other tools.
In the corresponding Canadian patent (CA-199,477), Bessolo gives Walla Walla, WA as his address. In corresponding British patent GB-142,370 he lists both San Diego and Walla Walla. |
