Description: |
The patent is for the adjustment lock for an adjustable end wrench. The large "button" compresses the spring tension of the catch or catches to either press against or release from the "teeth" on the knurled adjusting worm of the wrench.
An adjustment lock similar to this form has been observed on some models of Crescent Tool Co. "CRESTOLOY" wrenches. The feature does not appear on wrenches shown in a 1931 CRESCENT Tool Co. catalog. In the absence of hard documentation, this could be coincidence, copycat, or ??? |
