Stan Schulz VULCAN RIM WRENCH & TIRE TOOL (1922) - (flickr)
|
|
Description: |
| Combination wrench and tire iron to loosen demountable rims from wheels, and remove the tire from the rim. The patented feature is the "bulge" with a wrench opening.
A known example of a JENKINS VULCAN SPRING CO. wrench / tire iron is marked with a patent date corresponding to another of the company's products.
Some 1922 notices show this as "Model D" Rim Wrench and Tire Tool. It appears in late 1920's auto supply company catalogs as the JENKINS MODEL E WRENCH. Many of these tools appear as advertising specialties stamped with markings for local auto dealerships, tire dealers, repair shops, etc. |
