Description: |
A compression spring within the handle opens the jaws. The shank of the movable jaw is oval with threads on the outer edges. The interior of the handle has a corresponding thread to engage or disengage with a partial turn. In use, the jaws would be allowed to open to full extent, closed against the nut or pipe against spring pressure, and the adjustment set by turning the handle to engage the threads on the shank.
A known example is a nut wrench marked only with the patent date.
The patent includes a description and drawing of the supplemental tool used to assemble the wrench's parts. |
