Description: |
Screw adjust hook jaw, and a flat bearing face set at an angle. One ad indicated the angle facilitated work on "octagon" nuts and fittings - the STAR COUPLING for lead and iron pipe had octagon rather than hexagon flats.
Announced as a "new product" in August 1895 with advertising starting in Sept. 1895. The STAR PIPE WRENCH produced by VAN AUKEN STEAM SPECIALTY Co. (Chicago) included a wood handle option for "mid-range" sizes. |
