Description: |
Turning knob, shaft and lobe to operate ratchet pawl selection on LOWELL WRENCH Co. reversible ratchets. A flat section on the shaft and spring detent hold the lobe in the selected position. The features move the controlling means for ratchet pawl selection to the end of the wrench handle. This is the third iteration of the LOWELL WRENCH CO. reversible ratchet with the reversing knob on the handle end, following no. 743,942.
Some LOWELL WRENCH CO. ratchet wrenches with the reversing selector at the end of the handle are marked with this patent number along with 2,003,346.
John H. Dodge also patented a "single pawl" alternative form for this ratchet (see pat. no. (1,883,618} which appears to not have been put into production. |
