| This wagon axle nut wrench is an improvement to patent no. 501,369-- a cam lobe on the handle tightens the jaws. The jaw surfaces include padding material (e.g. leather) to protect the finish on the nut.
The wrench is shown in Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" with the presumption that Seymour produced the wrench.
The wrench also received Canadian patent no. CA-45,277 on Febr. 8, 1894. |
