Sangster - patent attorneyThis invention relates to a stationary cutter head for cutting the croze and chamfering the end of barrel staves and the object, of the invention is to produce a light, cheap. and practical device having but one chamfering knife and one crozing knife.I claim as my invention; 1. A stationary cutter head for chamfering and crozing the ends of barrel staves comprising a collar having an enlargement, a chamfering knife supported on one side, of said enlargement, a crozing knife supported on the opposite side of said enlargement, said knives extending at an angle to each other and the chamfering knife being additionally tilted to give a bevel cut to the barrel stave and a stop rod supported from the collar at one side of said enlargement and adapted, to bear against the barrel stave to limit the extent of cut.2. A stationary cutter head comprising a split collar having an enlargement about opposite the split, a chamfering knife supportcd on one face of said enlargement, a crozing knife supported on the other side of said enlargement, and a stop rod adjustably supported from the collar on one side of said enlargement. |
