        Description: |
| The adjusting worm has a cone-shaped inner end that is held against the jaw by a compression spring. The threads are steep enough pitch to turn freely when the friction of the cone and socket are relieved, rendering the jaw quick-adjusting. A washer on the shaft holding the adjusting worm provides a grip to retract the tension spring. |
