I claim as my invention:
1. A wrench comprising a handle having at its upper end a gear and an offset portion opposite said gear, a lower jaw having a shank provided on its inner face with a rack engaging said gear and an upper jaw having a shank pivotally connected at its lower end to said offset and means for holding, the rack of the first jaw in engagement with the gear.
2. A wrench comprising a handle having a gear at its upper end and an offset extending opposite to said gear, a lower jaw having a shank provided with a rack engaging said gear, an upper jaw having a shank pivotally connected to said offset and a strap embracing the shank of the lower jaw and pivotally connected to said handle.
3. A wrench comprising a handle having at its upper end a gear and an offset member opposite said gear, a lower jaw having a shank provided with a rack meshing with said gear, an upper jaw having a shank pivotally connected at its lower end to said offset and a strap embracing said jaws and pivotally connected to the handle.
4. A wrench comprising a handle having at its upper end a gear and an offset opposite said gear, a lower jaw having a shank provided with a rack- meshing with said gear, an upper jaw having a shank pivotally connected with said offset, the back of said shank being arcuate and a strap embracing said shanks and pivotally connected to the handle.
