The present invention relates to wrenches and comprehends a construction whereby the jaws thereof can be adjusted and held fixed relatively by means operable with one hand of the user, so that the wrench can be both quickly and conveniently used. In carrying out the invention, the wrench embodies a fixed jaw and a relatively movable jaw associated with means for adjusting the same with relation to the fixed jaw, and holding it in any given position, and which means is controlled by a single operating lever arranged in juxtaposition with the handle of the wrench to be simultaneously gripped therewith.
