Description: |
The focus of the patent is the "guide housing" / "adjusting screw sleeve" for a wrench of the type described in Dies' Sept. 28, 1918 patent (no. 1,155,136). The wrench frame was produced with pipe gripping jaws and as a smooth-jawed nut wrench. They were announced to the trade in 1921.
There is a version of this wrench modified to form a pipe cutter. The roller cutter is in the "fixed" jaw, bearing rollers in the adjustable jaw, and a clamping screw inserted in the "tail" of the adjustable jaw.
