Description: |
Slip-joint pliers with jaws shaped to fit clamp bolts on battery cables, and gripping loops for battery terminals on the handle ends. Insulating bushings between the loops and pliers handles address the problem of electrical short-circuit.
Marketed as the "Battery Boss Pliers." Early production "PAT APPL'D FOR SAUNDERS-ALLEN CO. MEMPHIS TENN." Later production "ALLEN CORPORATION MEMPHIS TENN. PATENT NO. 1,185,665." The bushing only appears in the "-" marked handle in a known example. |
