Description: |
Cutter and hole punch for trimming and punching a hole in round belting such as that used for treadle-powered sewing machines, etc. The patent is shown applied to a "Bernard" type parallel jaw plier frame. (Pat. no 427,220 and subsequent improvements.)
The specifications note Bernard's pat. no. 488,785 as prior art. In the earlier patent, the punch and cutter are in line rather than side by side.
Similar belt cutter / punch pliers with BERNARD type hollow handles and parallel jaw action were produced by SARGENT & CO. of New Haven, CT. |
