Description: |
This wedge-shaped block with gripping teeth and a spring clip to attach it to the movable jaw of a monkey wrench is a pipe grip.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-27,019 was granted June 22, 1887.
A known example has sufficient visible markings to infer that Kelly and Hubbell produced it at East Tawas, MI. An 1890 wholesale catalog lists it as "patent wrench attachment" for 12 inch screw wrench. |
