Description: |
The adjustable portion of the movable jaw is similar to Houghton's Feb. 20, 1894 nut wrench (Canadian patent CA-45,387 and U.S. patent no. 514,993). A sliding lock piece to hold the adjustment serves the same function as the sliding wedge in the earlier patent(s). Houghton registered British patent GB-189516985 for this wrench Sept. 11, 1895; and received U.S. patent 567,715 on Sept. 15, 1896.
The swinging hook jaw and serrated jaw face on the main shank are of typical form for pipe wrenches. |
