Description: |
One or two toothed bars with a series of inclines on the inner surfaces and a corresponding series of inclines on the main shank form the adjusting means. When fully retracted, the toothed bars disengage from the movable jaw allowing it to slide freely. As the toothed bars advance, they engage corresponding teeth on the inner surface of the movable jaw, and wedge it to the main shank. A couple of alternate means of moving the toothed bars are described. |
