"Vintage Machinery" entry for Novelty Iron Works
Description:
In 1827, sons (Howard Nott and Benjamin Nott) of inventor Eliphalet Nott, established an Albany-based ironworking firm, H. Nott & Co., to manufacture a new boiler their father had invented and to allow him to develop a safer and more efficient coal-powered boiler. We are linking all of Eliphalet Nott's patent to that company.

Most of the patents prior to 1836 were lost in the Dec. 1836 fire. Only about 2,000 of the almost 10,000 documents were recovered. This is one of the recovered patents. This patent is in the database for reference only.
