Description: |
The primary patented feature is the protected location of the spring that pushes the hook jaw into engagement with the work piece. The side pieces of the rocking frame extend far enough to cover the spring whatever the position of the jaw.
The main handle is made by drop forging; pat. no. 1,118,073 describes the process of forming the hook jaw.
The rocking frame and spring in the WINCHESTER pipe wrench (pat. no. 1,409,672) are quite similar. |
