The patent number appears on a locking pliers shown on pg. 45 of Don Snyder's "MY SECOND THOUSAND WRENCHES" and marked LANE SURE GRIP CHICAGO PAT. 2496309. The lever and toggle connector also appear in a locking pliers marked SHUR GRIP CO. PAT. PEND. ROCKFORD, ILL. The end of the center link adjacent the adjusting screw in the SHUR GRIP matches the corresponding detail shown in pat. no. 2,496,308.
