Description: |
The linkage between the jaws and handle makes the wrench self-adjusting. The spring in the linkage pulls it closed. The teeth on the jaws lead some to imagine this is a pipe wrench, but the patent drawing shows it gripping nuts by the corners, and some versions have "NUT GEARENCH" forged in the side plates.
Peterson patented a pliers having similar connections between the jaws (see patent no. 1,666,467). |
