Description: |
This is the third patent in the sequence that resulted in the "KIBBON KATCH-KWIK" pipe wrench. The adjusting screw is modified from the previous arrangements, and the base of the movable jaw and spring are also modified. The relative position of the jaws is positively held by the adjustment screw, so the spring to keep the jaws spread that appeared in the first patents (nos. 1,423,499 & 1,709,589) is done away with. The connection between the movable jaw and main shank is called a rolling hinge. This feature appears in the "KIBBON KATCH-KWIK" pipe wrench. This patent also includes a dual jaw face with specific sections for pipe and nuts. The final patent in the sequence is 1,872,780. |
