Description: |
The handle pivots slightly just behind the adjusting ring. It imparts extra tightening pressure to the lower jaw. Armstrong and Vandegrift's parallel patent (no. 291,267) has the same adjustable jaw and handle.
The distinctive pipe handle carried over into the subsequent evolution of this design. The altered version shown in patent nos. 298,043 and 392,300 was produced as the ARMSTRONG pipe wrench. |
