Description: |
| The end jaw is a pivoted "V" block with gripping teeth milled in the faces. The adjustable jaw is a pivoted double-toothed piece, with the pivot bolt also serving as a clamping bolt for the adjusting clamp. The handle has a sliding extension.
The flanges in this application screwed on to threaded pipe lengths, and in turn were used to connect lengths of water, gas, and steam piping.
Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-44,957 was issued Dec. 26, 1893.
Kellam's second flange wrench patent (no. 499,742) is closer in concept to the wrench actually produced. |
