Description: |
Interrupted threads on the adjusting nut engage rack teeth on the main bar. The groove running the length of the adjusting nut is the width of the toothed rack on the main bar. When this groove is aligned with the rack, the movable jaw is free to slide, providing quick adjustment. The partial thread on the adjusting nut has more "lead" than a full thread would have, so there are no "gaps" in the adjustment range. |
