The patent is for a spring steel band enclosing boot and shoe heels. The band can be circular or any other shape conforming to the outside of the heel, and may have teeth on its lower edge. The band is held on the shoe only by spring tension, and is applied and removed with a hook spanner. The spanner is shown in the drawings and described in the specifications. The British patent was issued March 24, 1880. |
