Description:

The patent describes a linkage in the frame which provides sufficient movement for the jaws to grip and release pipe. There are three pins and a slot in the linkage. The drawing shows the patent applied to a combination pipe and nut wrench.

The corresponding wrench has four rivets; the slots are relatively small and concealed. They do provide adequate movement for the grip and release necessary when working with pipe. The jaws have pipe gripping teeth. The wrench is marked UNCLE TOM WRENCH on the head, and PAT APL 26-12 on the threaded shank.

Two known examples are held by Kennel's descendants.
