Description: |
The pawls and reversing lever are arranged so that neither pawl is engaged when the reversing lever is in the middle. The cover for the pawl mechanisms is also included in the patent.
One known example is marked: 0-1 PATENT NO. 1798194 // NO. 2 RED SOCKET. It has a 3/4 inch square opening in the ratchet head, and is 17 inches long overall. The ratchet was also supplied as the driver for LOWELL RED HEAD socket sets. Other known examples are marked DRESSER and LOWELL WRENCH CO.
