The May 1887 issue of "Manufacturer & Builder" says that "A company has been organized by J. T. Reamy, of Nashville, Tenn., to build a machine shop at Chattanooga." A web search did not turn up any more information on this business.

A 1901 catalog from A. B. Farquhar Co., Ltd., features their "New Ideal Reamy Friction Feed... unquestionably the simplest, most durable and surest in use..."
