Description: |
The back side of the ratchet head has a ring of scroll-shaped teeth engaging helical teeth on the sliding jaws. The center of the head between the jaws is open to accommodate drill shanks or long bolts. The ratchet action is reversible.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" identifies the manufacturer as W. G. Startsman & CO. of Cincinnati, OH. Petticrew had assigned Startsman a wagon jack patent. |
