Description: |
The patent is an improvement on Schrader's May 11, 1897 adjustable spanner patent (no. 582,238). It adds an adjustable wrench with the second spanner "jaw" as a "tail" to the adjustable jaw. The wrench produced may be marked with both the 1897 and 1900 patent dates, or only May 11, 1897.
Another variant with a square stud or poll on the back angle of the fixed jaw includes a third patent date -- Oct. 18, 1898 -- corresponding to design patent no. D29,520. |
